Set by the Arts and Creative Health Manager in the Frimley Health Charity at Frimley Park Hospital, we were tasked with coming up with a wall design for the Children's accident and emergency waiting room to create a more calming and welcoming environment for their young patients. I created a woodland scene where the children could be immersed by the trees and animals, with green and blue colours to help keep the patients calm. The animals are dressed in doctors scrubs, accessories or they have things wrong with them, with statements helping to explain to the children what might happen in the process after they have finished waiting. This was a competition and I was one of three who got selected to have it created - there will be some changes (see NHS waiting room mural).
Since having my sea design installed in the hospital, Emma - the Arts and Creative Health Manager loved this woodland design so much she still wanted to use it elsewhere in the hospital. So, she had it installed without the writing (as the Patreon thought in the end that writing would cause more anxiety) in the Urgent Treatment Centre waiting room.
